What the Celeron G4920 is

The Celeron G4920 nudges budget clocks to a fixed 3.2 GHz. It launched in April 2018 at 54 W without Turbo. Intel offers it where a small speed bump over G4900 matters for the same power.

Two megabytes of cache per Intel ARK support basic tasks, not 6 MB as some databases show, and this page uses the manufacturer 2 MB value. The fixed clock keeps fleets consistent. Two threads cover office foreground work.

UHD Graphics 610 from 350 MHz to 1050 MHz drive office panels. The process is 14 nm. DDR4-2400 ECC suits budget towers where validated.

Socket and motherboard compatibility

The G4920 fits LGA 1151 on revision 2 boards only. H310 towers pair it with DDR4 for reception desks. BIOS updates may be needed on early Z370. Revision 1 never accepts it.

DDR4-2400 in two channels up to 64 GB per Intel covers basics. The Socket vs chipset: what decides whether a CPU works guide explains board generations.

Single socket budget nodes are the use. Another 300 series Celeron or Pentium on the same board adjusts speed.

Memory, PCIe and cooling

DDR4-2400 in two channels up to 64 GB with SSDs gives snappy basics. Start with 4 GB.

Sixteen Gen3 lanes feed storage while integrated graphics handle display. Chipset I/O covers the rest.

Stock cooling for 54 W from the CPU cooler compatibility by socket guide suffices.

Upgrade paths

On the same socket, the Intel Celeron G4900 trims to 3.1 GHz for lower cost. Pentium Gold parts add threads where listed. Both share 300 series boards.

Newer Celeron generations on LGA 1200 bring efficiency gains. They need new boards.

Past LGA 1151 the G4920 covers slightly faster basic towers. Note the 2 MB cache per Intel against 6 MB in some lists.

Frequently asked questions

What socket does the Celeron G4920 use?

It uses LGA 1151 on revision 2 boards.

How many cores does the G4920 have?

Two cores without Hyper-Threading give two threads. Fixed at 3.2 GHz.

How much cache does the G4920 have?

2 MB per Intel ARK. Some lists show 6 MB, but this page uses 2 MB.

Which graphics does the G4920 include?

UHD Graphics 610 from 350 MHz to 1050 MHz.

What memory does the G4920 support?

DDR4-2400 in two channels up to 64 GB.
