What the Atom CE4150 is

The Intel Atom CE4150 is a single core Sodaville media processor from September 2009. It runs one Bonnell class core at 1.2 GHz with no Hyper-Threading, so 1 core gives 1 thread, backed by 512 KB of L2 cache. Power is rated at 7 W on a 45 nm process.

The CE4150 tops the CE4100 family tables with the same clocks and power for connected TVs. GMA500 class graphics with dual 1080p decode and NAND boot cover box designs.

Memory runs on two 32-bit channels with DDR2 up to 800 MT/s or DDR3 up to 1333 MT/s.

Socket and motherboard compatibility

The Atom CE4150 is soldered to the board in BGA 951 and cannot be replaced.

Firmware comes from the device vendor. The CPU cooler compatibility by socket guide covers soldered rules.

Memory, PCIe and cooling

Memory is DDR2 up to 800 MT/s or DDR3 up to 1333 MT/s on two 32-bit channels, fixed per design.

No CPU PCIe lanes are claimed. Board I/O comes from the SoC.

Cooling is passive by design for 7 W.

Upgrade paths

There is no CPU upgrade path on BGA 951 because the chip is soldered. Keep the CE4150 where its video blocks cover the TV design.
